BABY PENGUINS FALL IN OT, TRAIL BRIDGEPORT 3-2 IN SERIES
The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Baby Penguins are one loss away from exiting the AHL playoffs.
The Baby Penguins dropped a 3-2 home overtime decision to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on Wednesday night to fall behind, 3-2, in the best-of-seven series.
Jonathan Filewich scored his third goal of the postseason just 34 seconds into the contest to give Wilkes-Barre/Scranton a 1-0 lead. Ryan Stone and Max Talbot assisted on the play.
Krys Kolanos gave the Baby Penguins a 2-0 edge with a goal 4:13 into the second period. Shane Endicott and Stephen Dixon assisted on the goal.
Bridgeport trimmed the deficit to 2-1 just 3:02 later when Ryan Caldwell scored a power-play goal.
The Sound Tigers knotted the game at 2-all 7:11 into the third period on Matt Koalska’s goal.
Bridgeport’s Masi Marjamaki provided the game-winning goal 2:11 into over time when he beat Dany Sabourin.
The Baby Penguins need to win Friday in Bridgeport to force a Game 7 in Wilkes-Barre on Saturday.
