PENGUINS CONTINUE TRIP SATURDAY AGAINST TAMPA BAY

The Pittsburgh Penguins wrap up their two-game Florida trip Saturday with a game in Tampa Bay at 7:30 p.m.

FSN Pittsburgh will televise the contest at 7:30 p.m., while 3WS (94.5 FM) will start its radio broadcast with a pregame show at 6 p.m. The broadcast may be found live through streaming audio on pittsburghpenguins.com as well. Tune in for Penguins Hotline following every game on 3WS and the Penguins Radio Network. Join in the conversation with host Bob Grove by calling the Penn Telecom toll-free line at 1-866-922-2874.

The Penguins beat the Florida Panthers in convincing fashion, 5-1, Friday night. Sidney Crosby had a goal and three assists to boost his team-leading point total 91. The 18-year-old phenom leads the Penguins with 36 goals and 55 assists. He ranks second in rookie points and goals to Washington’s Alexander Ovechkin, who has 99 points and 48 goals. However, Crosby leads Ovechkin in assists, 55-51.

Another rookie, Colby Armstrong, extended his points streak to six games with an assist Friday night. He has three goals and four assists in his last six games. However, it’s not his longest points streak this year. He had an eight-game points streak earlier, which tied for second-most among NHL rookies this season with Boston’s Brad Boyes and Ovechkin.

The Penguins return to action Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Philadelphia. That contest will wrap up the Penguins’ four-game road trip, which is its second-longest voyage of the year.
