PENGUINS HEAD TO FLORIDA ON FRIDAY TO BATTLE PANTHERS

The Pittsburgh Penguins continue their four-game road trip Friday against the Florida Panthers at 7:30 p.m.

FSN Pittsburgh will televise Friday’s contest at 7:30 p.m., while 3WS (94.5 FM) will start its radio broadcast with a pregame show at 6 p.m. The broadcast may be found live through streaming audio on pittsburghpenguins.com as well. Tune in for Penguins Hotline following every game on 3WS and the Penguins Radio Network. Join in the conversation with host Bob Grove by calling the Penn Telecom toll-free line at 1-866-922-2874.

The Penguins are looking to snap a two-game losing streak. After shutting out the New York Islanders, 4-0, last Friday, the Penguins dropped consecutive games to the New Jersey Devils – 3-2 in overtime Sunday at home and 6-4 in New Jersey on Wednesday.

Penguins defenseman Sergei Gonchar saw his five-game points streak come to an end Wednesday. However, rookie Colby Armstrong extended his points streak to five games. He had one assist against the Devils and how has three goals and three assists in his last five contests. It is another lengthy rookie scoring streak for Armstrong. He had an eight-game points streak earlier, which tied for second-most among NHL rookies this season with Boston’s Brad Boyes and Washington’s Alexander Ovechkin.

The Penguins return to action Saturday at 7:30 p.m. when they make the short jaunt to Tampa Bay to battle the Lightning. Pittsburgh wraps up its road trip Tuesday night in Philadelphia.
