The Pittsburgh Penguins wrap up their three-game homestand Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. when the Florida Panthers visit Mellon Arena.

The Penguins (18-41-12) are 4-5-1 in their last 10 games. They dropped a 6-5 decision to Montreal on Sunday. It was yet another close defeat. Of Pittsburgh’s eight losses this month, five were decided by just one goal.

Colby Armstrong had two more goals against the Canadiens to continue his successful rookie campaign. He now has 27 points (12+15) in 36 games for the Penguins. He leads the team with a plus-8 rating as well.

Another rookie, Noah Welch, continued his strong play as well. The defenseman scored his first NHL goal Sunday and added an assist to give him three points (1+2) in two games. In addition, he has played strong in the Penguins’ defensive zone.

Welch will appear on Mark Madden’s show Tuesday at 4:40 p.m. on ESPN Radio 1250.

The Panthers (32-30-9) are red-hot. They are 9-1-0 in their past 10 games and are on a six-game winning streak.

FSN Pittsburgh will televise the contest at 7:30 p.m., while 3WS (94.5 FM) will start its radio broadcast with a pregame show at 7 p.m. The broadcast may be found live through streaming audio on as well.
