The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-assigned center Erik Christensen to their American Hockey League affiliate, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, it was announced Monday by General Manager Craig Patrick.

Christensen, 22, was scoreless in two games with Pittsburgh, after being recalled on February 28.  He has appeared in 33 games with the Penguins so far this season, tallying 13 points (6+7) with 34 penalty minutes and a minus-3 rating. 

Christensen has appeared in 29 games for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton this season, recording 37 points (19+18), 32 penalty minutes and a plus-11 rating. 

The 6-1 and 196 pound center is second on Wilkes-Barre/Scranton in scoring even though he has appeared in just 29 of the team’s 61 games.  He is first on the team in goals and second with seven power-play goals.

The 6-1 and 196 pound native of Edmonton, Alberta was drafted by the Penguins in the third round (69th overall) of the 2002 Entry Draft.
