Russia recorded its second-straight shutout Saturday as it blanked Kazakhstan, 1-0, at the Winter Olympics.

Pittsburgh Penguins prospect Evgeni Malkin, the 2004 second-overall draft choice, set up Russia's lone goal by Alexander Kharitonov in the second period. Penguins defenseman Sergei Gonchar did not register a point, but took six shots and was a plus-1 for Russia.
