The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled center Erik Christensen from their American Hockey League affiliate, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, it was announced Thursday by General Manager Craig Patrick.
Christensen, 22, has appeared in 29 games this season with Pittsburgh, recording 12 points (6+6) and 32 penalty minutes.
Christensen was re-assigned to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on January 9th. For the season, Christensen is tied for second on Wilkes-Barre/Scranton in scoring with 30 points (14+16) while playing in only 21 games. He is tied for second in goals and is tied for third with five power-play goals.
The 6-1 and 196 pound native of Edmonton, Alberta was drafted by the Penguins in the third round (69th overall) of the 2002 Entry Draft.
