PENS RECALL KOLTSOV; RE-ASSIGN CHRISTENSEN TO WILKES-BARRE

The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled forward Konstantin Koltsov from their AHL affiliate, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, it was announced Monday by General Manager Craig Patrick.  Additionally, the Penguins have re-assigned center Erik Christensen to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

Koltsov, 24, has recorded 12 points (7+5) and 13 penalty minutes in 18 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, after being assigned from Pittsburgh on November 22nd.  Koltsov has appeared in 20 games with Pittsburgh this season, recording one assist and 10 penalty minutes.

The 6-0 and 206-pound native of Minsk, Belarus has appeared in 104 NHL games, all with the Penguins, recording 30 points (9+21) and 40 penalty minutes.  Koltsov was drafted by the Penguins in the first round (18th overall) of the 1999 Entry Draft.

Christensen, 22, has appeared in 29 games this season with Pittsburgh, recording 12 points (6+6) and 32 penalty minutes since being recalled from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on October 31st.  Christensen is still tied for sixth on the team in scoring with 19 points (9+10) despite playing in only nine games.

The 6-1 and 196-pound native of Edmonton, Alberta was drafted by the Penguins in the third round (69th overall) of the 2002 Entry Draft.
