PENGUINS ASSIGN THREE PLAYERS TO WILKES-BARRE/SCRANTON

PITTSBURGH - The Pittsburgh Penguins have assigned forwards Rico Fata and Konstantin Koltsov and defenseman Rob Scuderi to their American Hockey League affiliate, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, it was announced today by General Manager Craig Patrick.

Fata, 25, has appeared in 20 games this season with the Penguins, going scoreless with 10 penalty minutes.  The 6-0 and 205 pound native of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario has played in 193 NHL games with Calgary, the New York Rangers and Pittsburgh, recording 54 points (23+31) and 90 penalty minutes.

Koltsov, 24, has appeared in 20 games this season with the Penguins, recording one assist and 10 penalty minutes.  The 6-0 and 206 pound native of Minsk, Belarus has appeared in 104 NHL games, all with Pittsburgh, recording 30 points (9+21) and 40 penalty minutes.

Scuderi, 26, has appeared in 10 games this season with the Penguins, going scoreless with 10 penalty minutes.  The 6-0 and 218 pound native of Syosset, New York has appeared in 23 NHL games, all with Pittsburgh, recording three points (1+2) and 14 penalty minutes.
