PENGUINS OFFER UNIQUE GAME PROMOTIONS
Well, the only way to get any of those is to buy a ticket – and soon.
All of those items are part of the Pittsburgh Penguins’ promotional lineup this year. These items are only available to fans in attendance at select games. They will not be sold in stores, so order your tickets now to ensure a chance at coming home with these items.
It all starts at the Penguins’ first home game Oct. 8 against Boston. Fans will receive the popular Verizon Wireless Magnetic Schedule. Place it on your fridge so you don’t miss any Penguins action all season. In addition, fans will receive a bonus Penguins T-shirt.
On Oct. 15, Penguins fans will get a double treat. They will get a chance to see Tampa Bay, the defending Stanley Cup champion, and they will get to take home a DVD filled with 66 minutes of Super Mario’s most-spectacular plays, discussion of his milestones and achievements, rise to the top of the NHL and the magnitude of “The Comeback.”
Fans at the Oct. 25 game against Florida will receive the UPMC Penguins team calendar. The ever-popular item is a 13-month calendar running from Oct. 2005-Oct. 2006. It includes the Penguins game schedule and player photos. This years giveaways
The Classic Penguins DVD Series kicks off Nov. 10 against Montreal with Disc #1 distributed to fans. It includes Pittsburgh’s victory over Minnesota in 1991 to secure the franchise’s first Stanley Cup.
Fans in attendance at the Nov. 29 game against Buffalo will receive a brand-new item to the Penguins promotional lineup – Seven Springs Penguins fleece gloves. They are black fleece gloves with the Penguins logo on the cuff and the Seven Springs logo on the index finger of one glove – perfect to wear on the way to and from Penguins games on cold winter nights.
The second of the Classic Penguins DVDs will be given away at the Dec. 8 game against Minnesota. The DVD features Mario Lemieux’s dramatic comeback game from December, 2000, when Lemieux returned to the ice after three and a half years of retirement. Relive Super Mario’s goal and add two assists.
On Dec. 16, Penguins fans 14 and under will receive a UPMC youth practice jersey – a heavy-weight mesh pullover with the Penguins logo.
Fans at the Jan. 7 game against Atlanta will get the third of the Classic Penguins DVDs. This edition features the Penguins’ thrilling 10-7 win over Philadelphia in 1989 when Lemieux tied NHL playoff records with five goals and eight points.
A Penguins athletic bag will be given to fans at the Jan. 16 game against Vancouver. The durable, 15-inch bag features a main compartment and two pockets. It is black with an embroidered Penguins logo.
The Feb. 2 game against Ottawa features the fourth in the Classic Penguins DVD Series. It highlights the Penguins’ 10-4 victory over the Rangers at Madison Square Garden for their 16th-straight win, which set an NHL record. Lemieux scored five goals in the game.
On Feb. 8 against the Bruins, fans will receive a UPMC vintage Penguins baseball cap. The brushed cotton cap features the Penguins’ old blue color scheme with the vintage Penguins logo embroidered on the front, a white sandwich brim (the brim is blue, but the middle is white) and “1967” embroidered on the Velcro closure on the back.
Penguins fans ages 14-under will get the Penguins youth sports watch on March 4 vs. Carolina. It is a digital watch with a sporty nylon/Velcro strap featuring the Penguins logo.
The Classic Penguins DVD Series wraps up on March 7 against Tampa Bay. This features Pittsburgh’s win at Chicago in 1992 to clinch a second Stanley Cup championship.
Shirts Off Our Backs/Fan Appreciation Night will take place on April 17 when the Penguins close out their regular-season home slate against the Islanders. Giveaways will take place throughout the contest. Past prizes include: premium seats to future Mellon Arena events/concerts, suite nights for future Penguins games, autographed memorabilia, restaurant gift certificates, retail gift cards and more.
In addition, each Penguins player rewards a fan by giving away the game-worn jersey following the contest.
