FORMER PENGUIN KEVIN STEVENS JOINS THE PENGUINS SCOUTING STAFF

PITTSBURGH – Former Pittsburgh Penguin left wing, Kevin Stevens, has joined the club as a scout, it was announced today by General Manager Craig Patrick.

Stevens, 40, a member of both Penguins’ Stanley Cup championship teams in 1991 & 1992, will scout both amateur and professional games for the Penguins focusing on the New England area.

“We’re delighted to have Kevin back where he belongs, with the Penguins,” said Patrick.  “Kevin brings a passion to the game that is second to none and we’re happy he will be part of our organization, contributing to our future successes.”

The former Penguin left wing ranks 5th on the club’s all-time goals list (260), 7th all-time in assists (295) and 6th all-time in points (555).  Stevens is the club’s all-time penalty minutes leader (1,048), ranks 3rd in club history in power-play goals (110) and 4th in game-winning goals (27).

Stevens, a former three-time NHL All-Star (1991, 1992 & 1993), holds the Penguins’ single-season record with goals, assists and points by a left winger.

The Brockton, Massachusetts native appeared in 874 NHL games during his 15-year career, recording 726 points (329+397) and 1,468 penalty minutes.  In 522 games with the Penguins, Stevens scored 260 goals and recorded 555 points.
