The Pittsburgh Penguins are calling for “whiteouts” when the Penguins host Games 3 and 4 of the Stanley Cup Finals this week against the Detroit Red Wings at Mellon Arena.
In addition to encouraging fans to wear white, the Penguins will distribute a free whiteout t-shirt and a white towel to everyone attending the games.
The t-shirts for Game 3 on Wednesday will be presented courtesy of 84 Lumber and Andersen Windows and Doors.
The t-shirts for Game 4 on Saturday will be presented courtesy of the Bank of New York Mellon.
Towels for both games will be presented courtesy of Dick’s Sporting Goods.
Both games start at 8 pm. The gates at Mellon Arena will open for both games at 6:45 p.m.
The Penguins have had two previous “whiteouts” in the playoffs – for Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals against the New York Rangers and Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Philadelphia Flyers. The Penguins won both games.
