INJURY NEWS
Pens head coach Dan Bylsma had a few notes on the Pens practice group and injury updates...

  • Kris Letang is out with a lower-body injury. He will not skate the rest of the West Point trip and will be re-evaluated once he returns to Pittsburgh. The team is not sure if it will be a short-term or extended injury.
  • Matt D'Agostini skated by himself following practice on Saturday and will skate again alone Sunday after team practice.
  • The Pens dressed eight defensemen. Derrick Pouliot skated in place of Olli Maatta.

PRACTICE INFO
Defenseman Brooks Orpik (lower-body, day-to-day) was back on the ice for the Pens practice. Missing from the skate were Kris Letang, Olli Maatta and Matt D'Agostini (and Vokoun of course). Paul Martin took Letang's spot on the power play.

A PREVIEW OF THE PENS' WEST POINT TRIP
The Penguins arrived at West Point after taking an early flight Friday morning. They toured the West Point athletic facilities, at lunch with the cadets in the mess hall and then hit the ice at Tate Rink for practice. There are a number of other activities planned for them during their stay.

“The trip so far is great,” winger Pascal Dupuis said. “I was really impressed by the facilities, by how people talk, how people just conduct themselves and it was great that we had lunch with the cadets. Just talking to them, what they’re going through, the freshmen, the seniors, the juniors – what kind of life, what kind of ranking they have. It’s been an interesting day.”
