Pittsburgh Penguins prospect forward Kenny Agostino, who plays collegiately for the Yale Bulldogs, was named ECAC Player of the Week after registering a pair of multiple-point games last weekend.
Agostino, 20, notched a goal and an assist in back-to-back road wins against St. Lawrence and Clarkson, respectively. Agostino’s tally on Saturday against Clarkson was the game-winner, while he collected an assist on the game-winner the night before versus St. Lawrence.
The 6-foot-1, 200-pound Agostino, who was drafted by the Penguins in the fifth round (140th overall) in the 2010 NHL Draft, currently leads Yale in points (21) and assists (12), while his nine goals place second on the team.
The junior forward became the fourth Penguins prospect to be honored by his respective league this week, joining forward Scott Wilson (Hockey East Player of the Week) and goaltenders Sean Maguire (Hockey East Co-Rookie of the Week) and Matt Murray (Canadian Hockey League Goaltender of the Week).
