PHOTOGENICS

Coach Bylsma doodles on the board to pass the time

The 4 Horsemen: Crosby, Letang, Neal and Malkin

Fleury deploys two pucks to confuse the forwards. Which is the real puck? Sneaky, sneaky

Dupuis hooks the Sunkist fish. He'll go to the box for two minutes. He feels shame #Slapshot

Where's Waldo? Hint: He's wearing a rouge Adidas jumpsuit

Little known fact: Glass' beard weighs 6 pounds

Malkin and Neal race for fun. The loser has to swim in the Allegheny (no, not really. I made that up)

MORNING SKATE INFO
All 26 players on the Penguins' training camp roster attended the morning skate. A few players from WBS will join them later tonight for the Black and Gold Game.
The team used the following line combos/D-pairs...
Kunitz-Crosby-Dupuis
Cooke-Sutter-Kennedy
Tangradi-Malkin-Neal
Glass-Jeffrey-Adams
Bennett-Vitale-Megna
Niskanen-Engelland
Strait-Bortuzzo
(At the far end Lovejoy, Orpik, Letang, Martin and Despres rotated)
The team worked on the power-play, which still had Neal and Letang up top and Kunitz, Crosby and Malkin below.
The Pens worked on a 5-on-3 scenario that featured Crosby and Malkin on the points and Letang, Kunitz and Neal down low.

START THE DAY - IT'S TIME TO BEGIN
Good morning Pens fans! Tonight the Penguins face off against, well, the Penguins in an intrasquad contest dubbed the Black and Gold Game. Each team will have 12 forwards, 6 defensemen and a goalie (a few players from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton will be involved in the contest).
The two sides will skate for three full periods, plus an overtime, plus a shootout. The team will play overtime no matter what the score is. They'll also play a full five-minute overtime, regardless if anyone scores or not. The shootout will feature five skaters on each side.
Head coach Dan Bylsma and assistant to the GM Tom Fitzgerald will be on the bench for both teams (two periods with one team and the third period + overtime + shootout with the other). Same goes for assistant coaches Todd Reirden and Tony Granato on the other bench.
The game starts at 7 p.m. at CONSOL Energy Center and is free to fans that may wish to attend. If you can't make it down to the arena, the game will be on TV (ROOT SPORTS Pittsburgh) and radio (WXDX 105.9 FM).
For full details click here.
As far as the team is concerned, they are treating today like a normal game day. The players will arrive at the rink on a normal time, they'll wear suits and ties, they'll hold their normal team meetings, have a morning skate run through and hit all the normal routines of a home game.
As such, PittsburghPenguins.com will cover the day as if it were another normal game day, starting with the morning skate. So sit back and enjoy. This is the test run before Saturday's season opener in Philadelphia. If anything goes wrong, I blame Michelle.

I can't think of a better way to start off the morning of the Black and Gold Game than with Sam Sparro's "Black and Gold." Perfect fittig to start the morning.
Enjoy.
