How long have you been following the Pens and how did you become a fan? I grew up in a house where my mom religiously followed Pittsburgh sports so I was no stranger to hockey. I didn't truly get into hockey and the Penguins until I was in high school. One of my best friends took me to my first game at the Civic Arena. The game was the Penguins vs Whalers, where Lemieux and Jagr both hit the 50 goal mark. Like many people, once you see a game (and a game like that) in person, you get hooked. Following Penguins hockey became a regular part of my life after that.
Who is your favorite Penguins player (past or present)? Brooks Orpik
Tell us about your favorite Penguins memory.
As Penguin fans, we're so incredibly lucky to have had the opportunity to watch world class players give us amazing moments and to watch and an organization that really gives back to the fans. Because of the Penguins, I've made incredible life long friends and have witnessed some really cool things. But I have to say that my favorite memory has to be the 2009 Stanley Cup parade for both sporting and personal reasons. While I was in the crowd, I got pushed into a Chicago Penguins fan who drove to Pittsburgh the night before for the parade. I'm marrying that guy next summer. Not only did I get to watch my team carry the Stanley Cup after an emotional two years of runs to the finals, I also met my future husband in the process.
